Abstract

Critical thinking competence is one of the demands on science learning. There are schools that still have not optimized these critical thinking ability. One solution is to present learning media that applies indicators of critical thinking ability in the form of animated learning media. This study aims to explain the data of the development results and analyze the level of readability test of animated learning media products on Newtonian Mechanics material by applying indicators of critical thinking ability of junior high school students in grade VII. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), with the research and development model used refers to Thiagarajan's 4-D model (1974) which consists of the stages of Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate, but this research is adjusted to the needs of the research which is limited to the Develop stage of the readability test. The instruments used for validity testing are validation sheets for material experts, media experts, and science teachers as well as student response questionnaires to measure the readability of the products developed. The validation results based on material validation obtained a percentage value of 79.4% with the category “Valid', media expert validation obtained a value of 86.4% with the category ‘Very Valid’ and science teacher validation obtained a value of 87.3% with the category ‘Very Valid’. The results of the readability level of animated learning media products obtained from the results of student responses, getting a percentage value of 87.94% in the “Very Good” category. This shows that animated learning media by applying indicators of critical thinking skills of junior high school class VII has been validated from the assessment of experts and science teachers, therefore it should be continued at the disseminate stage for testing.

Additional Information: Kompetensi berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu tuntutan pada pembelajaran IPA. Terdapat sekolah-sekolah yang masih belum mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis tersebut. Salah satu solusinya adalah dengan menyajikan media pembelajaran yang menerapkan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam bentuk media pembelajaran animasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan data hasil pengembangan dan menganalisis tingkat uji keterbacaan produk media pembelajaran animasi pada materi Mekanika Newton dengan menerapkan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP Kelas VII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D), dengan model penelitian dan pengembangan yang digunakan mengacu pada model 4-D Thiagarajan (1974) yang terdiri tahapan Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate, namun penelitian ini disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penelitian yang dibatasi pada tahap Develop pada uji keterbacaan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk uji kevalidan yaitu lembar validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru IPA serta angket respon siswa untuk mengukur tingkat keterbacaan produk yang dikembangkan. Hasil validasi berdasarkan validasi materi memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 79,4% dengan kategori “Valid’, validasi ahli media memperoleh nilai sebesar 86,4% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid” dan validasi guru IPA memperoleh nilai sebesar 87,3% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Hasil tingkat keterbacaan produk media pembelajaran animasi didapatkan dari hasil respon siswa, mendapatkan nilai persentase sebesar 87,94% dengan kategori “ Sangat Baik “. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelarran animasi dengan menerapkan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis SMP kelas VII telah tervalidasi dari penilaian para ahli dan guru IPA, maka dari itu agar dilanjutkan pada tahap disseminate untuk ujicoba.
