Abstract
. This study aims to explore the indigenous knowledge of the Baduy community regarding leuit (traditional rice barns) from a physics perspective and to examine its potential integration into physics education through documentary media. Leuit, which can preserve the quality of rice for hundreds of years, was analyzed to identify the application of physics principles such as thermodynamics, humidity, and material elasticity. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through interviews with local elders, observations, and measurements of temperature and humidity inside the leuit. The findings reveal that the leuit's design reflects local wisdom aligned with physics concepts, such as temperature and humidity management, which have been passed down through generations. As an outcome, a documentary film was produced as an interactive learning medium supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum with a focus on local cultural-based approaches. This research contributes to cultural preservation, the enrichment of physics education materials, and students' understanding of the synergy between modern science and local traditions

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap indigenous knowledge masyarakat Baduy terkait leuit (lumbung padi tradisional) dari perspektif fisika dan mengeksplorasi potensinya dalam integrasi ke pendidikan fisika melalui media dokumenter. Leuit, yang mampu menjaga kualitas padi hingga ratusan tahun, dikaji untuk mengidentifikasi penerapan prinsip-prinsip fisika, seperti termodinamika, kelembapan, dan elastisitas material. Menggunakan pendekatan campuran, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan tokoh adat, observasi, dan pengukuran suhu serta kelembapan di dalam leuit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain leuit mencerminkan kearifan lokal yang relevan dengan konsep fisika, seperti pengelolaan suhu dan kelembapan, yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Sebagai produk penelitian, film dokumenter dihasilkan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif yang mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dengan pendekatan berbasis budaya lokal. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pelestarian budaya, pengayaan materi pendidikan fisika, dan pemahaman siswa tentang hubungan antara ilmu pengetahuan modern dan tradisi lokal. | |||||||||
