Abstract
This research is motivated by the importance of students' creative thinking skills in learning mathematics in the 21st century, but the reality is that mathematical creative thinking skills in Indonesia are still relatively low. One of the causes is the ineffective use of learning models used in schools. So it is necessary to solve the problem by applying the right learning model in improving students' mathematical creative thinking skills. This study aims to determine the difference in the improvement of mathematical creative thinking ability between students who use project-based learning model with STEM approach and students who use expository learning model. The quasi-experiment method with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design was used in this study. The implementation of this research was carried out in one of the junior high schools in Cilegon City, with the research subjects being VIII-grade students who were divided into experimental classes with 34 students and control classes with 34 students. The instrument used was a mathematical creative thinking ability test instrument in the form of descriptive questions. The results of data analysis obtained that there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical creative thinking ability between students who use the project-based learning model with the STEM approach and students who use the expository learning model.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika di abad ke-21, namun realitanya kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya karena kurang efektifnya penggunaan model pembelajaran yang digunakan di sekolah. Sehingga perlu penyelesaian masalah tersebut dengan penerapan model pembelajaran yang tepat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis antara siswa yang menggunakan model project-based learning dengan pendekatan STEM dan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran ekspositori. Metode eksperimen semu (Quasi Experiment) dengan jenis desain nonequivalent pretest-posttest control grup yang digunakan pada penelitian ini. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kota Cilegon dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII yang dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dengan 34 siswa dan kelas kontrol dengan 34 siswa. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis berupa soal uraian. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis antara siswa yang menggunakan model project-based learning dengan pendekatan STEM dan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran ekspositori. | |||||||||
