Abstract

In the 2022 PISA survey results, it is known that the science literacy score has decreased. Low science literacy scores indicate that learning outcomes are also still relatively low. Learning outcomes are influenced by external and internal factors. Internal factors include intelligence, critical thinking skills, health, learning methods, learning independence, and motivation. The ability to think critically is one of the abilities that is indispensable in this century, as well as a determining factor in learning, especially science. In addition, learning motivation also plays an important role in student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and learning motivation to student chemistry learning outcomes both individually and together. There are 3 types of instruments used, namely tests, non-tests (questionnaires), documentation (final semester exam results). The research sample was determined by simple random sampling method and slovin technique so that 236 samples were obtained from 570 population of class X SMA N 3 Serang City. The research was conducted for 3 meetings with a duration of data processing of 1 month Testing was carried out with the help of SPSS software and for the correlation test method used Pearson correlation test and multipple correlation test. The results showed that critical thinking skills were not significantly correlated with learning outcomes. While learning motivation is significantly correlated with learning outcomes. When tested together, the results show that critical thinking skills and learning motivation show a simultaneous relationship to students' chemistry learning outcomes.

Additional Information: Pada hasil survei PISA 2022 diketahui bahwa skor literasi sains mengalami penurunan. Skor literasi sains yang rendah menandakan hasil belajar yang juga masih tergolong rendah. Hasil belajar dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal dan internal. Faktor internal diantaranya adalah kecerdasan, kemampuan berpikir kritis, kesehatan, cara belajar, kemandirian belajar, dan motivasi. Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah salah satu kemampuan yang sangat diperlukan di abad ini, juga faktor penentu pada pembelajaran utamanya sains. Selain itu motivasi belajar juga memegang peran penting dalam hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar kimia siswa baik secara individu maupun bersama sama. Terdapat 3 jenis instrument yang digunakan yaitu tes, non-tes (angket), dokumentasi (hasil ujian akhir semester). Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan metode simple random sampling dan teknik slovin sehingga didapatkan 236 sampel dari 570 populasi kelas X SMA N 3 Kota Serang. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali pertemuan dengan durasi olah data 1 bulan Pengujian dilakukan bantuan software SPSS dan untuk metode uji korelasi digunakan uji correlation pearson dan uji multipple correlation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis tidak berkorelasi secara signifikan dengan hasil belajar. Sedangkan motivasi belajar berkorelasi secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar. Ketika diujikan secara bersama-sama hasil menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar menunjukkan hubungan secara simultan terhadap hasil belajar kimia peserta didik.
