Abstract
This research aimed to determine student’s participation and discussion activity using the application of syndicate group model of learning in living things concept classification at junior high school 1 Serang. The method used in this research was descriptive method. The sample in this research were 38 students from grade VII G which determined by purposive sampling technique. Instruments used in this research are questionnaires and observation. The result showed that the student’s participation was included in good category with a percentage of 81.3% and the student’s discussion activity was also included in good category with a percentage of 75.8%. Therefore using the application of syndicate group model of learning in living things concept classification at junior high school 1 Serang was giving a positive impact in the learning process

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui partisipasi dan keaktifan berdiskusi siswa melalui penerapan model syndicate group di SMPN 1 Kota Serang pada konsep klasifikasi makhluk hidup. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VII G berjumlah 38 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar angket dan lembar observasi. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan partisipasi siswa termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan persentase sebesar 81.3%, dan keaktifan berdiskusi siswa juga termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan persentase sebesar 74.8%. Dengan demikian melalui penerapan model syndicate group dalam konsep klasifikasi makhluk hidup dikelas VII G SMP Negeri 1 Kota Serang dapat dikatakan bahwa partisipasi dan keaktifan berdiskusi siswa memberikan dampak positif dalam proses pembelajaran. | |||||||||
