Abstract

Critical thinking skills in science learning referring to the independent curriculum need to be emphasised in students. But critical thinking is one of the problems found to be lacking in students in several public junior high schools in Serang City, especially in the learning material of the human respiratory system, this is due to the use of learning media used by teachers that does not provide a stimulus for students to think critically. Given the importance of critical thinking skills to lead students to become individuals who are fully responsible for decisions made correctly and are actively involved in problem solving, critical thinking can be raised through the selection of interactive learning media, one of which is through digital comic media. This research was conducted to produce valid digital comic learning media and find out how the level of student response to digital comics based on scientific approach to critical thinking of human respiratory system material. The method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method. The model used is Thiagarajan's 4-D model which is limited to three stages of define, design, and develop. The research instruments used were validation instruments and student responses in the form of a 1-4 Likert scale with research data collection techniques through interviews and questionnaires. The student sample used was 45 students of class VIII junior high school with the instruments used, namely validation questionnaires and student response questionnaires. The percentage results of digital comic validation obtained 92.42% from material validators, namely ‘Very Valid’, 92.52% from media validators, namely ‘Very Valid’, and 85.92% from practitioner validators, namely ‘Very Valid’. The results of the student response level on average get a percentage of 81.90% (very positive or very good). Thus, the conclusion that can be drawn is that it indicates that digital comics can be received by students well and are able to help students in students' critical thinking.

Additional Information: Kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran IPA mengacu pada kurikulum merdeka perlu ditekankan ada pada siswa. Tetapi berpikir kritis menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang ditemukan kurang muncul pada siswa dibeberapa SMP Negeri di Kota Serang khususnya pada materi pembelajaran sistem pernapasan manusia, hal ini disebabkan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru kurang memberikan stimulus untuk siswa berpikir secara kritis. Mengingat pentingnya kemampuan berpikir kritis untuk mengantarkan siswa menjadi pribadi yang bertanggung jawab penuh atas keputusan yang diambil secara benar dan terlibat aktif dalam pemecahan masalah, maka berpikir kritis dapat dimunculkan melalui pemilihan media pembelajaran yang interaktif salah satunya melalui media komik digital. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran komik digital yang valid dan mengetahui bagaimana tingkat respon siswa terhadap komik digital pendekatan saintifik berbasis berpikir kritis materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Metode yang digunakan metode Research and Development (R&D). Model yang digunakan model 4-D Thiagarajan yang dibatasi menjadi tiga tahapan define, design, dan develop. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen validasi dan respon siswa yang berbentuk skala likert 1-4 dengan teknik pengumpulan data penelitian melalui wawancara dan angket. Sampel siswa yang digunakan 45 siswa kelas VIII SMP dengan instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket validasi dan angket respon siswa. Hasil persentase validasi komik digital diperoleh 92,42% dari validator materi yakni "Sangat Valid", 92,52% dari validator media yakni "Sangat Valid", dan 85,92% dari validator praktisi yakni "Sangat Valid". Hasil tingkat respon siswa secara rata-rata mendapatkan persentase 81,90% (sangat positif atau sangat baik). Dengan demikian kesimpulan yang bisa ditarik adalah mengindikasikan bahwa komik digital dapat diterima siswa dengan baik dan mampu membantu siswa dalam berpikir kritis siswa.
