Abstract

The problem found in several junior high schools in Serang Regency is that the science learning process has not been able to fully train students' critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by learning that is still teacher centered, the use of teaching materials that are not yet varied and learning models that have not been implemented optimally. The solution for training students' critical thinking skills can be done with teaching materials, namely LKPD based on Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research aims to obtain the level of suitability and response of students to Problem Based Learning (PBL) LKPD on Business and Energy Material to Train Critical Thinking Abilities for Middle School Students in Class VIII. This research method is Research and Development (R&D) according to Thiagarajan (1974) and is limited to the development stage, namely the product validation stage by experts and limited product trials. The instruments used in this research were product validation questionnaire sheets by experts and student response questionnaire sheets. The results of this research show that the LKPD based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on business and energy material to train critical thinking skills. Students obtained an average percentage score from material experts, media experts and practitioner experts of 87.69% and were included in the "very" category. "worthy". The results of the student responses obtained a percentage score of 85.4% in the "very good" category. This shows that the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) LKPD in Business and Energy material is very good for use in learning to train skills. critical thinking of junior high school students.

Additional Information: Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada beberapa SMP di Kabupaten Serang adalah proses pembelajaran IPA yang belum sepenuhnya bisa melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan pembelajaran yang masih teacher center, penggunaan bahan ajar yang belum variatif serta model pembelajaran yang belum dijalankan secara maksimal. Solusi untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dapat dilakukan dengan bahan ajar yaitu LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan tingkat kelayakan dan respon siswa terhadap LKPD Berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) Pada Materi Usaha Dan Energi Untuk Melatih Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP Kelas VIII. Metode penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) menurut Thiagarajan (1974) dengan dibatasi sampai tahap develop yaitu dengan tahapan validasi produk oleh para Ahli dan uji coba produk secara terbatas. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar angket validasi produk oleh para ahli serta lembar angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa LKPD Berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) Pada Materi Usaha Dan Energi Untuk Melatih Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa memperoleh nilai persentase rata-rata dari Ahli Materi, Ahli Media dan Ahli Praktisi sebesar 87,69% dan masuk dalam kategori "sangat layak”. Untuk hasil dari respon siswa memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 85,4% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Usaha dan Energi sangat baik digunakan di dalam pembelajaran untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP.
