Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the important abilities for students to have in learning activities, especially mathematics. So it needs to be improved regarding students' ability to solve problems in the learning process, for that it is assisted by supporting materials in learning, namely worksheets. Worksheets are one of the teaching materials that support learning activities. In its use, worksheets can be combined with models, methods, and technology. One of them is the faded example method. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of faded example worksheets to improve junior high school students' mathematical problem solving skills. The type of research used is research and development or R&D with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects in this study were 27 students of class IX SMPN 22 Serang City. Based on the assessment conducted by material and media expert validators, 83.33% and 86.17% were obtained respectively with very valid categories. The results of teacher and student responses were obtained at 75% and 79.51% which were in the practical category. The results of the effectiveness test using N-gain between pretest and posttest obtained a result of 0.59 with a fairly effective category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the faded example worksheet is valid, practical, and effective for improving students' mathematical problem solving skills.

Additional Information: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan satu diantara kemampuan yang penting untuk dimiliki siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, khususnya matematika. Sehingga perlu ditingkatkan terkait kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah dalam proses pembelajaran, untuk itu dibantu dengan bahan penunjang dalam pembelajaran, yaitu lembar kerja. Lembar kerja merupakan salah satu bahan ajar yang menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran. Pada penggunaannya, lembar kerja dapat dikombinasikan dengan model, metode, dan teknologi. Salah satunya adalah dengan metode faded example. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan lembar kerja faded example untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan atau R&D dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 27 siswa kelas IX SMPN 22 Kota Serang. Berdasarkan penilaian yang dilakukan validator ahli materi dan media didapatkan masing-masing sebesar 83,33% dan 86,17% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil respons guru dan siswa diperoleh sebesar 75% dan 79,51% yang berada pada kategori praktis. Adapun hasil uji efektivitas menggunakan N-gain antara pretest dan posttest mendapatkan hasil 0,59 dengan kategori cukup efektif. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa lembar kerja faded example valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.
