Abstract

This study aims to determine the environmental literacy levels of students in Adiwiyata high schools and non-Adiwiyata high schools in Serang City. This research is a comparative study with an ex post facto design. The population of this study includes all students in grades XI and XII from SMAN 3 Serang City, SMAN 4 Serang City, SMAN 5 Serang City, and SMAN 8 Serang City. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. Data for this research were collected using environmental literacy instruments consisting of environmental knowledge test questions, questionnaires on environmental care attitudes and pro-environmental behaviors. In addition, it also uses an interview instruments for the implementation of the Adiwiyata program aimed at the deputy head of curriculum and biology teachers. The average environmental literacy score for students in Adiwiyata schools is 80,93. In contrast, the average environmental literacy score for students in non-Adiwiyata high schools is 76,52. The results also indicate a significant difference in environmental literacy scores between students in Adiwiyata high schools and non-Adiwiyata high schools in Serang City. Environmental literacy is crucial for supporting sustainable development through consistent programs implemented by schools.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai literasi lingkungan siswa SMA adiwiyata dan SMA non adiwiyata di Kota Serang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian komparatif dengan desain penelitian ex post facto. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI dan XII SMAN 3 Kota Serang, SMAN 4 Kota Serang, SMAN 5 Kota Serang, dan SMAN 8 Kota Serang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Data penelitian ini diambil menggunakan instrumen literasi lingkungan yang terdiri dari soal tes pengetahuan lingkungan, angket sikap peduli lingkungan dan perilaku pro-lingkungan. Selain itu juga menggunakan instrumen wawancara pelaksanaan program adiwiyata yang ditujukan pada wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum dan guru biologi. Nilai rata-rata literasi lingkungan siswa sekolah adiwiyata sebesar 80,93. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata literasi lingkungan siswa SMA non adiwiyata sebesar 76,52. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan nilai literasi lingkungan siswa SMA adiwiyata dan SMA non adiwiyata di Kota Serang. Literasi lingkungan sangat penting untuk mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan dengan melakukan program yang telah dilakukan sekolah secara konsisten.
