Abstract

Absence of chemistry practicum module media in schools is a problem for students and teachers in practicum activities, besides lack understanding of dangers generated from practicum waste can have a negative impact on environment and the surrounding ecosystem. This study aims to develop “Green Chemistry Practicum Module to Stimulate Science Process Skills on Reaction Rate Material”. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, & Disseminate). Based on the results of the assessment by 6 expert validators & calculations with Aikens'V, the validation results were declared “Valid” with validation value of 0.92 and 0.94, respectively. Limited trials were conducted with 30 class XI students at MAN 2 Cilegon, then based on the results student responses to this practicum module, percentage of 89% obtained “Very Good” category. This practicum module not only helps students in understanding the concept of reaction rate but also can stimulate students' science process skills and provide practical experience combined with use of green chemistry principles order to create a safe and environmentally friendly practicum. Thus, the practicum module has been developed is declared valid & feasible to use of the learning media in practicum activities at school.

Additional Information: Tidak adanya media modul praktikum kimia di sekolah menjadi suatu permasalahan bagi siswa serta guru dalam kegiatan praktikum selain itu kurangnya pemahaman mengenai bahaya yang dihasilkan dari limbah hasil praktikum dapat berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan dan ekosistem sekitar. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan “Modul Praktikum Green Chemistry untuk Menstimulus Keterampilan Proses Sains pada Materi Laju Reaksi”. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, & Disseminate). Berdasarkan hasil penilaian oleh 6 orang validator ahli dan dilakukan perhitungan dengan Aikens’V maka hasil validasi pada modul praktikum ini dinyatakan “Valid” dengan nilai validasi media & materi masing – masing sebesar 0,92 dan 0,94. Uji coba terbatas dilakukan kepada 30 siswa kelas XI di MAN 2 Kota Cilegon, kemudian berdasarkan hasil analisis respon siswa terhadap modul praktikum ini diperoleh persentase sebesar 89% dengan kategori “Sangat Baik”. Modul praktikum ini tidak hanya membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep laju reaksi tetapi juga dapat menstimulus keterampilan proses sains siswa serta memberikan pengalaman praktikum yang dipadukan dengan penggunaan prinsip green chemistry supaya mencipkatan praktikum yang aman dan ramah lingkungan. Dengan demikian, modul praktikum yang telah dikembangkan ini dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran dalam kegiatan praktikum disekolah.
