Abstract

Conventional electrical appliances that still use manual controls are prone to wasting energy if they forget to turn off the device when they are out of the house. While IoT makes it easier to control devices, the downside is the inability to monitor real-time conditions, such as ensuring lights are actually receiving voltage and functioning. In addition, the issue of home security and safety has become very important, especially with the increase in crime and fire cases due to LPG gas leaks. This research aims to design an IoT-based Smart Home Automation and Security System prototype using NodeMCU ESP8266 to improve home efficiency, security, and safety. The system incorporates automation features to control lights, fans, and garage doors through the Blynk app, complemented by real-time monitoring with light and voltage sensors on the lights. In addition, the security features utilize MQ-2 gas sensors to detect gas leaks and magnetic switches to monitor door openings, with notifications to mobile devices. This research produces an automation system for electrical equipment such as lights, fans, garages and can monitor the real time condition of lights by detecting light and voltage on the lights. Produce a security system to monitor gas leaks and monitor the open and closed activities of the house door. The performance of the tool works well. In the gas sensor, the maximum distance that can be detected is 1-15cm. Real-time monitoring of lamp voltage produces an error percentage of 0.53%. Based on the tests that have been carried out that both from software and hardware, all functional systems can run well.

Additional Information: Peralatan listrik konvensional yang masih menggunakan kontrol manual rentan menyebabkan pemborosan energi jika lupa mematikan perangkat saat berada di luar rumah. Meskipun IoT memudahkan pengendalian perangkat, kelemahannya adalah ketidakmampuan untuk memantau kondisi real-time, seperti memastikan lampu benar-benar menerima tegangan dan berfungsi. Selain itu, isu keamanan dan keselamatan rumah menjadi sangat penting, terutama dengan meningkatnya kasus kejahatan dan kebakaran akibat kebocoran gas LPG. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang prototipe Smart Home Automation and Security System berbasis IoT menggunakan NodeMCU ESP8266 guna meningkatkan efisiensi, keamanan, dan keselamatan rumah. Sistem ini menggabungkan fitur otomatisasi untuk mengontrol lampu, kipas, dan pintu garasi melalui aplikasi Blynk, dilengkapi pemantauan real-time dengan sensor cahaya dan tegangan pada lampu. Selain itu, fitur keamanan memanfaatkan sensor gas MQ-2 untuk mendeteksi kebocoran gas dan magnetic switch untuk memantau pintu terbuka, yang dilengkapi notifikasi ke perangkat handphone. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sistem otomatisasi pada peralatan listrik seperti lampu, kipas, garasi dan dapat memantau kondisi real time lampu dengan mendeteksi cahaya dan tegangan pada lampu. Menghasilkan sistem keamanan untuk memantau kebocoran gas dan memantau aktivitas terbuka dan tertutupnya pintu rumah. Pada kinerja alat berfungsi dengan baik. Pada sensor gas jarak maksimal yang dapat dideteksi yaitu 1-15cm. Pada pemantauan real-time pada tegangan lampu menghasilkan peresentase error sebesar 0,53%. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan bahwa baik dari software maupun hardware, seluruh fungsional sistem dapat berjalan baik.
