Abstract
Students' cognitive abilities play an important role in determining the right learning model to achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this research was to determine the cognitive ability profile of class X MIPA 4 students at SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang by applying the advance organizer learning model to animalia material. This research was a descriptive research. Data collection was conducted in May 2023. Data collection was carried out through objective tests, observation sheets, and supported by the results of teacher interviews and documentation. Based on the results showed the highest average value of cognitive ability at level C2 (understanding) was 86.22 in the very good category, while the lowest at level C4 (analyzing) was 79.88 in the medium category. From the study can be concluded that class X MIPA 4 students of SMAN 13 Tangerang Regency for the 2022/2023 Academic Year have cognitive abilities in the good category with an average of 81.93. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers in selecting or implementing learning models that are appropriate to students' cognitive profiles in implementing or modifying learning models that are appropriate to cognitive abilities so that students' cognitive abilities can be optimized.

Additional Information: | Kemampuan kognitif siswa memiliki peran penting dalam upaya menentukan model pembelajaran yang tepat untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas X MIPA 4 di SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang dengan penerapan model pembelajaran advance organizer pada materi animalia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2023. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes objektif, lembar observasi, dan didukung oleh hasil wawancara guru serta dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil pengelolaan data nilai rata-rata kemampuan kognitif tertinggi pada jenjang C2 (memahami) sebesar 86,22 berada pada kategori sangat baik; sedangkan terendah pada jenjang C4 (menganalisis) sebesar 79,88 berada pada kategori sedang. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas X MIPA 4 SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023 memiliki kemampuan kognitif dalam kategori baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 81,93. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan guru dalam memilih atau menerapkan model-model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan profil kognitif siswa dalam menerapkan atau memodifikasi model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kemampuan kognitif sehingga kemampuan kognitif siswa dapat dioptimalkan. | |||||||||
