Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of Sequence Manipulation Suite (SMS) tools for forensic science on high school students' Computational Thinking Self-Efficacy (CTSE) and conceptual understanding of genetics. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all 12th-grade MIPA students at SMAN 11 Kabupaten Tangerang, in the 2023/2024 academic year, with class XII MIPA 1 as the experimental group and XII MIPA 2 as the control group. Data collection techniques included non-test instruments, such as questionnaires to measure CTSE skills, and tests to assess students' conceptual understanding. The average CTSE skill score in the control group was 64.3, categorized as high, while the experimental group achieved an average score of 74.4, categorized as satisfactory. Meanwhile, the average conceptual understanding score in the control group was 65.2, categorized as sufficient, whereas the experimental group scored an average of 77.9, categorized as good. Hypothesis testing analysis was conducted using a t-test for CTSE and a Mann-Whitney test for conceptual understanding. The hypothesis test results for CTSE yielded a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), while the test for conceptual understanding produced a p-value of 0.027 (<0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that SMS tools for forensic science significantly influenced high school students' CTSE and conceptual understanding in genetics.

Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian menggunakan non-tes berupa angket untuk mengukur keterampilan CTSE dan tes untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep siswa. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan CTSE kelas kontrol yaitu 64,3 dengan kategori sedang dan kelas eksperimen yaitu 74,4 dengan kategori tinggi. sementara nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa pada kelas kontrol 65,2 yaitu dengan kategori cukup dan kelas eksperimen yaitu 77,9 dengan kategori baik. Teknik analisis data hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan uji t pada CTSE dan uji Mann Whithney untuk pemahaman konsep. Hasil uji hipotesis terhadap CTSE diperoleh nilai p-value (0,000 < 0,05), sementara uji hipotesis pada pemahaman konsep diperoleh nilai p-value (0,027 < 0,05). Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh SMS tools untuk forensik sains terhadap CTSE dan pemahaman konsep siswa SMA pada materi genetika. | |||||||||
