Abstract

The development of e-modules is currently widely carried out along with technological developments. This study aimed to develop and to determine the feasibility of an e-module based on a case method oriented to students’ critical thinking skills on biodiversity material. The research method and design used were research and development (R&D) which had 7 stages, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, design revision, product trial, and product revision. The research was conducted in February – December 2024 at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, SMAN 11 Pandeglang, and SMAN 3 Kota Serang. The subjects of the study were 3 (three) learning material experts, 3 (three) learning media experts, and 31 class X students of SMAN 11 Pandeglang. The results of the e-module feasibility assessment based on material experts obtained an average value of 93.18% and media experts obtained an average value of 92.59%, both of which are included in the very feasible category. Furthermore, the results of the small group trial obtained an average value of 86,22%, which is included in the very feasible category. Based on these results, it concluded that the e-module based on the case method oriented to students’ critical thinking skills is very suitable for use as a learning resource on biodiversity material.

Additional Information: Pengembangan e-modul saat ini banyak dilakukan seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan e-modul berbasis case method berorientasi keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Metode dan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang memiliki 7 tahapan yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi produk, revisi desain, uji coba produk, dan revisi produk. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari – Desember 2024 di Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, SMAN 11 Pandeglang, dan SMAN 3 Kota Serang. Subjek penelitian yaitu 3 (tiga) ahli materi, 3 (tiga) ahli media, dan 31 siswa kelas X SMAN 11 Pandeglang. Hasil penilaian kelayakan e-modul berdasarkan ahli materi memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 93,18% dan ahli media memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 92,59%, keduanya termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Selanjutnya hasil uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu sebesar 86,22% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul berbasis case method berorientasi keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sangat layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar pada materi keanekaragaman hayati.
