Abstract

Mango leaves contain nutrients that can be utilized for making compost fertilizer, as they help reduce leaf waste. This study aims to determine the effect of mango leaf compost (Mangifera indica) on the growth of bokchoy (Brassica rapa). The research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and two replications, resulting in 48 experimental units. The treatments included doses of mango leaf compost at four levels: P0- (100 ml water), P0+ (60 g of instant compost fertilizer), P1 (60 g of mango leaf compost), and P2 (80 g of mango leaf compost). The results showed that the nutrient content of mango leaf compost met the quality standards for compost fertilizer as per Indonesian National Standards (SNI); however, the growth of bokchoy was not optimal. Statistical tests indicated differences in parameters such as leaf length, leaf width, number of leaves, plant height, and fresh weight, while no differences were observed in root length, dry weight, and chlorophyll content. This research activity can be recommended as content for the P5 module on sustainable lifestyle and entrepreneurship themes in Phase E, specifically focusing on the activities of making mango leaf compost and cultivating bokchoy plants using eco-friendly fertilizers.

Additional Information: Daun mangga memiliki kandungan unsur hara yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembuatan pupuk kompos karena dapat mengurangi sampah daun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pupuk kompos daun mangga (Mangifera indica) pada pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy (Brassica rapa). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dan desain Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan dua kali pengulangan sehingga diperoleh 48 satuan percobaan. Perlakuan yang diberikan berupa dosis kompos sampah daun mangga dengan empat taraf yaitu P0- (100 ml air), P0+ (pupuk kompos daun instan 60 g), P1 (pupuk kompos daun mangga 60 g), dan P2 (pupuk kompos daun mangga 80 g). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kandungan pupuk kompos daun mangga sudah memenuhi standar mutu pupuk kompos sesuai dengan SNI, tetapi pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy belum optimal. Hasil uji statistik menunjukan parameter panjang daun, lebar daun, jumlah daun, tinggi tanaman, dan berat basah terdapat perbedaan, sementara itu parameter panjang akar, berat kering, dan kadar klorofil tidak terdapat perbedaan. Kegiatan dalam penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai rekomendasi konten modul P5 tema gaya hidup berkelanjutan dan tema kewirausahaan pada fase E, yaitu kegiatan pembuatan pupuk kompos daun mangga dan budi daya tanaman pakcoy menggunakan pupuk ramah lingkungan.
