Abstract

Old mango leaves are often not utilized properly and become waste that causes environmental problems. In fact, mango leaves contain nutrients that can be used to fulfil the nutrient needs of plants. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from mango leaves (Mangifera indica) on the growth of pak choi (Brassica rapa L.) plants and then to analyze research facts to be implemented as the content of the project module P5 activity themed sustainable lifestyles. The research method used is an experimental method with acompletely randomized design (CRD) of four treatments with two trials. The treatments in this study were: P0- (100% raw water), P0+ (2% POC Infarm), P1 (5% P0C mango leaves), and P2 (10% POC mango leaves). Based on the results of data processing on the average growth of pak choi plants, it shows that there is no effect of giving POC based mango leaves on all observation parameters, namely leaf length, leaf width, number of leaves, plant height, root length, plant fresh weight, plant dried weight, and total chlorophyll. The data about how to make POC from mango leaves can be implemented as P5 activity content on the theme of sustainable lifestyle.

Additional Information: Daun mangga yang sudah tua seringkali tidak dimanfaatkan dengan baik dan hanya menjadi sampah penyebab masalah lingkungan, padahal daun mangga tersebut memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hara tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pemberian pupuk organik cair (POC) daun mangga (Mangifera indica) terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) dan selanjutnya menganalisis data hasil penelitian untuk diimplementasikan sebagai konten modul proyek kegiatan P5 pada tema gaya hidup berkelanjutan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) empat perlakuan dengan dua kali pengulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: P0- (100% air baku), P0+ (2% POC Infarm), P1 (5% P0C daun mangga), dan P2 (10% POC daun mangga). Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data rata-rata pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh pemberian POC daun mangga pada semua parameter pengamatan yaitu panjang daun, lebar daun, jumlah daun, tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, berat basah tanaman, berat kering tanaman, dan jumlah klorofil total. Data mengenai cara pembuatan POC berbahan dasar daun mangga dapat diimplementasikan sebagai konten kegiatan P5 pada tema gaya hidup berkelanjutan.
