Abstract

In critical discourse studies, representation in a text is realized in vocabulary selection. This study aims to reveal the representation of the threat of identity politics in the text of Jokowi's speech. The research data was taken from www.setkab.go.id about the President's speech in 2020-2023. The research uses critical discourse analysis with Fairclough's approach which divides the analysis into three layers; text analysis, discourse practice analysis and social practice. Based on the results of the research during 2020 -2023, there were eleven texts of Jokowi's speeches that contained identity politics discourse. In the text analysis, the representation of the threat of identity politics is seen through the use of metonymy for identity politics in the form of SARA politicization and religious politicization. In the discourse pra ctice analysis, the representation of the threat of identity politics is seen from the rejection of identity politics by PPP and PAN even though both are parties based on religious identity (Islam). The same representation is also shown through the uniformity of the views of election organizers and law enforcement officials with Jokowi. In the social practice analysis, it shows that the current representation of the threat of identity politics, which attaches identity politics as the politicization of SARA and religion, has separated identity politics from the civil society movement and placed it as the antithesis of nationalism, making identity politics a taboo to be discussed in the public sphere.

Dalam kajian wacana kritis, representasi pada sebuah teks diwujudkan dalam pemilihan kosakata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untu k mengungkap representasi ancaman politik identitas pada teks pidato Jokowi. Data penelitian diambil dari www.setkab.go.id tentang pidato Presiden pada tahun 2020 -2023. Penelitian menggunakan analisis wacana kritis dengan pendekatan Fairclough yang membag i analisis ke dalam tiga lapis; analisis teks, analisis discourse practice dan social practice. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian selama 2020 - 2023 terdapat sebelas teks pidato Jokowi yang memuat wacana politik identitas. Dalam analisis teks, representasi ancaman politik identitas terlihat lewat penggunaan majas metonimia untuk politik identitas berupa politisasi SARA dan politisasi agama. Dalam analisis discourse practice, representasi ancaman politik identitas terlihat dari adanya penolakan politik identitas oleh PPP dan PAN meskipun keduanya merupakan partai berlandaskan identitas agama (Islam). Representasi yang sama juga ditunjukan melalui keseragaman pandangan para penyelenggara pemilu dan aparat penegak hukum dengan Jokowi. Dalam analisis social practice, menunjukan bahwa representasi ancaman politik identitas saat ini yang melekatkan politik identitas sebagai politisasi SARA dan agama, telah memisahkan politik identitas dari gerakan civil society dan menempatkannya sebagai antithesis dari nasionalisme, ha l ini menjadikan politik identitas sebagai sesuatu yang tabu untuk dibicarakan di ruang publik.
