Abstract

School-age children are one of the groups that are vulnerable to nutritional problems. Overnutrition and obesity are nutritional problems that often occur in school-age children, one of the factors that cause nutritional problems is the wrong food consumption patterns and lack of physical activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between snacks consumption habits and physical activity with nutritional status. This study used an observational design with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted at SDN Serang 20 with a sample size of 63 students, using purposive sampling method. The data collected in this study were data on snack consumption, physical activity, and nutritional status according to IMT/U. Data collection was done by direct interview using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionaire (SQ-FFQ) of snacks consumption habits, Physical Activity Level (PAL) questionnaire, and direct measurement of body weight and height. Data were then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most of the respondents had a frequent snack consumption frequency (50.8%), the amount of snack consumption intake was more (63.5%), the type of snack consumption was mostly snack food (38.1%), and the frequency of physical activity was light (90.5%). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between snacks consumption habits (frequency, amount, and type) and physical activity with nutritional status (p<0.05).

Additional Information: Anak usia sekolah merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rentan dengan masalah gizi. Gizi lebih dan obesitas adalah masalah gizi yang sering terjadi pada anak usia sekolah, beberapa faktor yang dapat menyebabkan masalah gizi pada anak sekolah adalah pola konsumsi makanan yang salah (konsumsi makanan jajanan tinggi energi) dan kurangnya aktivitas fisik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan kebiasaan konsumsi jajanan dan aktivitas fisik dengan status gizi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN Serang 20 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 63 siswa, dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan pada penelitian ini adalah data konsumsi jajanan, aktivitas fisik, dan status gizi menurut IMT/U. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara langsung menggunakan kuesioner Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionaire (SQ-FFQ) kebiasaan konsumsi jajanan, kuesioner Physical Activity Level (PAL), dan pengukuran langsung berat badan dan tinggi badan. Data selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki frekuensi konsumsi jajanan sering (50,8%), jumlah asupan energi konsumsi jajanan lebih (63,5%), jenis konsumsi jajanan yang paling sering dikonsumsi yaitu jajanan makanan camilan (38,1%), dan frekuensi aktivitas fisik ringan (90,5%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu, terdapat hubungan antara kebiasaan konsumsi jajanan (frekuensi, jumlah, dan jenis) dan aktivitas fisik dengan status gizi (p<0,05).
