Abstract
ABSTRACT This research is aimed to know about the profile of students’ representation ability based gender in the concept of human reproductive system. Gender used in this research is male and female students. The method which used in this research descriptive method. Population in this research is students of class XI IPA Senior High School Maulana Yusuf Serang on academic year 2012-2013. Purposive sampling was used as sampling technique. The researcher only investigated one class by using lecture and group discussion methods. The instrument which used are written test and interview sheet in order to know students responses on the use of representation types. It was known about the profile of students representation ability based on gender in SMA Maulana Yusuf. Keywords: Representation Ability, Gender, Human Reproductive System

| Additional Information: | ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan representasi siswa berbasis gender dalam konsep sistem reproduksi manusia. Gender yang digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Maulana Yusup Serangtahun ajaran 2012-2013. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu dengan cara purposive sampling. Kelas yang digunakan hanya satu kelas dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi kelompok. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes tertulis uraian dan lembar wawancara yang berfungsi mengetahui respon siswa pada penggunaan jenis - jenis representasi.
