Abstract

The purpose of this research is to obtain a clear picture of the effectiveness of implementing weaving activities using EVA sponge in improving the fine motor skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities. This research was carried out on mildly mentally retarded children in class III of Inclusion Elementary School at Kak Seto's Homeschooling with the initials KM. Where students have low cognitive abilities so they experience obstacles in their fine motor skills. The data collection method used in this research is a research method with a quantitative approach. The type used is Single Subject Research (SSR) with an A-B-A' research design. Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that implementing weaving activities using EVA sponge can improve children's fine motor skills. The target behavior aimed at is improving children's fine motor skills. This is aimed at increasing the mean level or average percentage from the baseline-1 (A1) phase of 31.25%, intervention (B) 74.98% and in the baseline-2 (A2) phase the average percentage of the mean level is obtained by 67.8%. Thus, the results of this research show that through implementing weaving activities with EVA sponge material, children's fine motor skills can be improved. By implementing weaving activities using EVA sponge, the subject slowly experienced an increase in his fine motor skills. Thus, this research can answer the hypothesis in this research that implementing weaving activities with EVA sponge material can improve the subject's fine motor skills.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh dan gambaran yang jelas mengenai efektifitas penerapan kegiatan menganyam dengan bahan spon eva dalam meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak dengan hambatan intelektual ringan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada anak dengan hambatan intelektual ringan kelas III SD Inklusi di Homeschooling Kak Seto yang berinisial KM. Dimana subjek memiliki kemampuan intelektual yang rendah sehingga mengalami hambatan dalam kemampuan motorik halusnya. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Adapun jenis yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain penelitian A-B-A’. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan penelitian ini, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan kegiatan menganyam dengan bahan spon eva mampu meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak. Target behavior yang dituju adalah peningkatan kemampuan motorik halus anak. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan meningkatnya mean level atau rata-rata presentase dari fase baseline-1 (A1) sebesar 31,25%, intervensi (B) 74,98% dan pada fase baseline-2 (A2) rata-rata presentase mean level yang di dapat sebesar 67,8%. Dengan demikian hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa melalui penerapan kegiatan menganyam dengan bahan spon eva dapat meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak. Dengan penerapan kegiatan menganyam dengan bahan spon eva ini subjek secara perlahan mengalami peningkatan dalam kemampuan motorik halusnya. Dengan demikian penelitian ini dapat menjawab hipotesis dalam penelitian ini bahwa penerapan kegiatan menganyam dengan bahan spon eva dapat meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus subjek.
