Abstract
This study aimed to determine the growth response and yield of caisim plants (Brassica juncea L.) with different types and volumes of growing media using the wick sistem technique. The research was conducted from June to August 2024 in Margasari Village, Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency. The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factors. The first factor was the type of growing media (M) consist of 3 types, malang sand (M1), husk charcoal (M2), and cocopeat (M3). The second factor was the volume of growing media (V) consist of 3 treatment levels, 300 ml volume (V1), 400 ml volume (V2), and 500 ml volume (V3). The results showed that cocopeat significantly affected plant height at 7–21 days after planting (DAP) and root length at 28 DAP. Charcoal husk growing media significantly affected root length at 28 DAP. The use of 500 ml media volume resulted in the lowest plant height parameter. The use of 300 ml and 400 ml media volumes significantly affected plant height at 14 and 21 DAP. There was an interaction between the types of growing media and media volume for the parameters of leaf number, leaf area, and fresh shoot weight of caisim.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman caisim (Brassica juncea L.) terhadap jenis dan volume media tanam yang berbeda menggunakan teknik hidroponik sistem sumbu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni hingga Agustus 2024 di Desa Margasari, Kecamatan Tigaraksa, Kabupaten Tangerang. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah jenis media tanam (M) yang terdiri dari 3 jenis, yaitu pasir malang (M1), arang sekam (M2), dan cocopeat (M3). Faktor kedua adalah volume media tanam (V) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan, yaitu volume 300 ml (V1), volume 400 ml (V2), dan volume 500 ml (V3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cocopeat berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tinggi tanaman pada 7–21 hari setelah tanam (HST) dan panjang akar pada 28 HST. Media tanam arang sekam berpengaruh signifikan terhadap panjang akar pada 28 HST. Penggunaan volume media 500 ml menghasilkan tinggi tanaman terendah. Penggunaan volume media 300 ml dan 400 ml berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tinggi tanaman pada 14 dan 21 HST. Terdapat interaksi antara jenis media tanam dan volume media tanam terhadap parameter jumlah daun, luas daun, dan bobot segar tajuk tanaman caisim. | |||||||||
