Abstract

This development research is motivated by the low numeracy skills of students often caused by the lack of interesting learning media. Technology was chosen as an innovation solution, using e-comic as a learning media that is expected to improve students' numeracy skills. The purpose of this research is to produce e-comic that meets the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness to improve numeracy skills. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects in this study amounted to 24 students of class VIII SMPN 7 Serang City. The instruments in this study used a validation questionnaire for education experts, material experts and media experts to determine the feasibility of e-comic, a questionnaire for educator and student responses to determine the practicality of e-comic, and a numeracy test instrument to determine effectiveness of e-comic. Based on the assessment conducted by the validators, the results of the validation of education experts were 90.6% with very feasible criteria, the validation of material experts was 91.3% with very feasible criteria and the validation of media experts was 85.3% with very feasible criteria. The results of the teacher response questionnaire of 90.6% were categorized as very practical and the student response of 89.47% with very practical criteria. The results of the effectiveness test based on the pretest and posttest numeracy tests using the n-gain score were obtained.

Additional Information: Penelitian pengembangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan numerasi siswa yang rendah sering disebabkan oleh kurangnya media pembelajaran yang menarik. Teknologi dipilih sebagai solusi inovasi, dengan menggunakan e-comic sebagai media pembelajaran yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan e-comic yang memenuhi kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 24 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Kota Serang. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket validasi ahli pendidikan, ahli materi dan ahli media untuk mengetahui kelayakan e-comic, angket respon pendidik dan siswa untuk mengetahui kepraktisan e-comic, dan instrumen tes kemampuan numerasi untuk mengetahui keefektifan e-comic. Berdasarkan penilaian yang dilakukan oleh validator diperoleh hasil validasi ahli pendidikan sebesar 90,6% dengan kriteria sangat layak, validasi ahli materi sebesar 91,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak dan validasi ahli media sebesar 85,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Adapun hasil angket respon guru sebesar 90,6% dikategorikan sangat praktis dan respon siswa sebesar 89,47% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Hasil uji keefektifan berdasarkan tes kemampuan numerasi pretest dan posttest dengan menggunakan n-gain score diperoleh sebesar 0,8263 dengan kriteria tinggi dan persentase sebesar 82,63% dengan kategori efektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-comic untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi dinyatakan layak, praktis, dan efektif.
