Abstract

This research is motivated by the high cost of inputs for shallot farming during the planting season and the low selling price during the harvest season due to the abundant stock. Tonjong Village is one of the villages in Kramatwatu Subdistrict where the majority of the population is involved in shallot cultivation. This leads to an oversupply of shallots during the harvest season, resulting in low selling prices in Tonjong Village. The aim of this study is to analyze the financial feasibility and sensitivity of shallot farming in Tonjong Village using four investment criteria: Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C Ratio), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). The results show that shallot farming in Tonjong Village is feasible to continue, with an NPV of Rp. 16.170.842,30, a Net B/C Ratio of 2,277, an IRR of 69.63%, and PP one period and 25 days or 85 days. Based on these results, it is concluded that shallot farming in Tonjong Village is feasible. After conducting a sensitivity analysis, it is found that the farming is fairly resistant to rising input costs, but very vulnerable to decreases in selling prices. It is recommended that farmers expand their market or collaborate with more buyers to achieve more stable and higher selling prices.
