Abstract
This study aims to identify the impact of using diorama media and event video media on the shortstory writing skills of 11th-grade students at SMK PGRI 5 Serpong. Thisresearch employs a true experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted at SMK PGRI 5 Serpong from January 19, 2024, to February 21, 2024. The population of this study comprises 11th-grade students, with a research sample of 60 students from the XI Accounting 2 and XI Accounting 3 classes. Data were collected through a short story writing test. Data analysis was carried out using prerequisite tests, including normality tests, linearity tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that the use of diorama media and event video media has a positive effect on students' short story writing skills. However, there is a difference in the effectiveness of the two media, where the average posttest score of the experimental class using diorama media is 83.6, while the control class using event video media is 78. Thus, it can be concluded that diorama media is more effective in enhancing students' short story writing skills.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh penggunaan media diorama dan media video peristiwa terhadap keterampilan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas XI SMK PGRI 5 Serpong. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode true eksperimental dengan desain pretest posttest control group design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMK PGRI 5 Serpong dari tanggal 19 Januari 2024 hingga 21 Februari 2024. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI, dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 60 siswa dari kelas XI Akuntansi 2 dan XI Akuntansi 3. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes menulis cerita pendek. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji prasyarat yang mencakup uji normalitas, uji linearitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media diorama dan media video peristiwa memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan menulis cerita pendek siswa. Namun, terdapat perbedaan dalam efektivitas kedua media tersebut, dimana nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media diorama adalah 83,6, sedangkan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media video peristiwa adalah 78. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media diorama lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerita pendek siswa. | |||||||||
