Abstract

Science learning in junior high schools can be said to be complex. The learning model used must also be appropriate to create student-centred learning, so that students are required to actively participate in learning. However, some students actually have low learning motivation which results in a lack of active participation from students in the classroom during learning. Efforts that can be made are by implementing new and interesting learning models such as the peer tutoring learning model assisted by wordwall media. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of thepeer tutoring learning model assisted by wordwall media onthe motivation of class VII junior high school students. This research is a semi-experimental study that uses two study groups in the test. Data collected through interviews, questionnaires, pre-test and post-test question sheets. The pretest post-test results for the control class had an N-gain score of 68% which was categorized as quite effective, while in the experimental class the pre-test post-test results had an N-gain score of 80% which was categorized as effective. So that the peer tutor learning model assisted by wordwall media has a significant influence on student learning motivation.

Additional Information: Pembelajaran IPA di Sekolah Menengah Pertama dapat dikatakan kompleks, Model pembelajaran yang digunakan juga harus sesuai untuk mewujudkan pembelajaran yang bersifat Student Center, sehingga siswa dituntut untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam pembelajaran. Namun, Sebagian dari siswa justru malah memiliki motivasi belajar rendah yang mengakibatkan kurangnya partisipasi aktif dari siswa di dalam kelas saat pembelajaran. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan menerapkan modelpembelajaran yang baru dan bersifat menarik seperti model pembelajaran tutor sebaya berbantuan media wordwall. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh model pembelajaran tutor sebaya berbantuan media wordwall terhadap motivasi siswa SMP kelas VII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian semi-eksperimen yang menggunakan dua kelompok belajar dalam pengujian. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, angket, lembar soal pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pre-test post- test kelas control memiliki skor N-gain sebesar 68% yang dikategorikan cukup efektif sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen hasilpre-test post-test skor N-gain memperoleh presentase 80% yang dikategorikan efektif. Sehingga model pembelajaran tutor sebaya berbantuan media wordwall ini memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa.
