Abstract

ABSTRACT NUR'AENI, Improving Literacy Through Media Flash Card Starters In Children Aged 4-5 Years in ECD Indah Kirana Attack. Thesis : Teacher Education Program Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, 2014. Reading is the beginning of an early stage in learning to read with a focus on the introduction of symbols and letters to utter the letters and understand the contents of the text in accordance with the reasoning of children. Flash media card is a learning tool in the form of card draw a picture in which there is writing or numbers adapted to the characteristics and developmental age of the child in a variety of shapes sizes. Children learning to read the beginning of the media takes an interesting one of them is a flash media card. Based on the results of research in early childhood pre Kirana Attack Beautiful, low child's reading skills beginning with the value of 25 % . The method in this study is the method of Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 6 times the action and the action success criteria 70 %. Subject penelian amounted to 8 children. The technique of collecting data through observation, field notes , interview and documentation. Data analysis using data reduction, data display and conclusion. Data validation is done by way of extension of the observations, the increase in persistence research, triangulation, peer checking, member checking, negative case analysis, and referential adequacy. The results of this research note that 1) At the initial assessment of a child 's ability to read the beginning of the 25 %, 2) After the child is given the action on the first cycle, the ability of the child began to increase to 43.5%. 3) Cycle II obtained a yield of 71%. It can be concluded that the flash media card can increase reading skills of 4-5 year olds beginning in early childhood Indah Kirana. Membaca permulaan adalah tahap awal dalam belajar membaca dengan fokus pada pengenalan simbol huruf dan mampu mengucapkan huruf serta memahami isi bacaan tersebut sesuai dengan penalaran anak. Media flash card adalah alat pembelajaran berupa kartu gambar menarik yang didalamnya terdapat tulisan atau bilangan disesuaikan dengan karakteristik dan perkembangan usia anak dalam berbagai bentuk ukuran. Pembelajaran membaca permulaan anak diperlukan media yang menarik salah satunya yaitu media flash card. Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian di PAUD Indah Kirana Serang, kemampuan membaca permulaan anak rendah dengan nilai 25%. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari 6 kali tindakan dan dengan kriteria keberhasilan tindakan 70%. Subjek penelian berjumlah 8 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan, catatan lapangan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Validasi data dilakukan dengan cara perpanjangan pengamatan, peningkatan ketekunan penelitian, triangulasi, pengecekan teman sejawat, pengecekan anggota, analisis kasus negatif, dan kecukupan referensial. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa 1) Pada asesmen awal kemampuan membaca permulaan anak 25%, 2) Setelah anak diberikan tindakan pada Siklus I, kemampuan anak mulai meningkat menjadi 43,5%. 3) Siklus II diperoleh hasil sebesar 71%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media flash card dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak usia 4-5 tahun di PAUD Indah Kirana.
