Abstract

This research is based on the low level of critical thinking of junior high school students in understanding science subject matter. Implementing PBL-based learning videos could be a solution to this problem. The research aims to describe the effect of using learning videos on junior high school students' critical thinking skills on the theme my water is polluted. This research uses the method Quasy Experiment in class IX at one of the district's state junior high schools. Attack with an instrument of 15 descriptive questions whose validity and reliability have been tested. After that, the results obtained were that the experimental class which used learning videos obtained normal data while the control class used it powerpoint obtain abnormal data. With the results of data that is not normally distributed, non-parametric statistical tests (man whitney) The obtained r value is 0.001 < 0.05 so it can be interpreted as H1 accepted while H0 rejected. Thus, the application of learning videos has an influence on junior high school students' critical thinking skills on the theme my water is polluted.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini didsasari atas rendahnya berpikir secara kritis siswa SMP dalam memahami materi pelajaran IPA. Penerapan video pembelajaran berbasis PBL bisa menjadi penyelesaian atas masalah tersebut. Penelitian memiliki tujuan guna menguraikan pengaruh penggunaan video pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa smp pada tema airku tercemar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasy Eksperimen pada kelas IX di salah satu SMP negeri Kab. Serang dengan instrumen sejumlah 15 soal uraian yang sudah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Setelah itu, didapatkan hasil bahwa pada kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan video pembelajaran memperoleh data normal sementara pada kelas kontrol yang memakai powerpoint memperoleh data tidak normal. Dengan hasil data yang tidak terdistribusi normal lalu dilakukan uji statistik non parametrik (man whitney) diperoleh nilai r Hitung 0,001 < 0,05 sehingga dapat diartikan H1 diterima sedangkan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian penerapan video pembelajaran memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP pada tema airku tercemar.
