Abstract
The skill of writing observation report text is still a subject that has not been given serious attention. The text of the observation report is included in the text of scientific work and is a vital writing lesson. This research aims to describe the influence of the round table type and jigsaw type cooperative learning models, as well as the differences in their influences on the skills of writing report texts based on observations of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 8 Serang City. Experimental methods with a quantitative approach and research design, pretest-posttest control group design, were used in this research. The sample was determined using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques use test techniques with predetermined assessment instruments. The results show the influence of the round table-type cooperative learning model with an average pretest score of 55.8 and a posttest score of 81.6. The influence of the jigsaw-type cooperative learning model was with an average score of 54.6 and a posttest score of 73.6. The results of the posttest differences between the two classes show that the round table type cooperative learning model is superior with a difference of 8 points. The average of the posttest scores for both classes shows that students have exceeded the standard writing skill score of 70. In this way, it is concluded that the round table type cooperative learning model is superior to the jigsaw type cooperative learning model in terms of application in improving skills in writing observation report texts.

Additional Information: | Keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi masih menjadi materi yang kurang diperhatikan dengan serius. Pada kenyataannya, teks laporan hasil observasi tergolong ke dalam teks karya ilmiah dan menjadi pembelajaran menulis yang sangat penting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table dan tipe jigsaw, serta perbedaan pengaruhnya terhadap keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Kota Serang. Metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif serta desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Teknik simple random sampling digunakan untuk menentukan sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dengan instrumen penilaian yang sudah ditentukan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table memiliki rata-rata nilai pretest 55,8 dan nilai posttest 81,6. Adapun pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw memiliki rata-rata nilai 54,6 dan nilai posttest 73,6. Hasil perbedaan posttest dari kedua kelas menunjukkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table lebih unggul dengan selisih 8 poin. Hasil rata-rata nilai posttest kedua kelas menunjukkan bahwa siswa telah melampaui standar nilai keterampilan menulis yakni 70. Maka disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe round table lebih unggul dibandingkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw untuk diterapkan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa. | |||||||||
