Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of various concentrations auxin IBA and NAA solution on the root induction of shoot cuttings of teak (Tectona grandis Linn f.) var. solomon as an alternative way of seedling propagation due to the difficulty in generative propagation of teak. The research was carried out from August to September 2023 at Mekar Hurip Nursery, Bogor. The research method used was an experimental method using a factorial Randomised Block Design (RBD). The first factor is the various level of concentrations auxin IBA, which are P0 (0 ppm), P1 (250 ppm), P2 (500 ppm), and P3 (750 ppm). The second factor the various level of concentrations auxin NAA, which are B0 (0 ppm), B1 (150 ppm), B2 (300 ppm), and B3 (450 ppm). The parameters that were observed are percentage of live cuttings, percentage of rooted cuttings, leaf emergence time, plant height increment, leaf length, leaf width, increase in number of leaves, number of roots, and root length. The result showed that concentrations level of auxin IBA at 500 ppm (P2) tends to have a good effect on the average leaf width at 4 WAP (28.84 mm), increase in number of leaves at 4 WAP (3,71 strands), number of roots (4,46 strands) and root length (115,41 mm). The concentrations level of auxin NAA at 300 ppm (P2) tends to have a good effect on the average leaf length at 5 – 8 WAP (60.33 mm), number of roots (4,38 strands) and root length (115,25 mm). The concentrations level of auxin NAA at 450 ppm (P3) increase in number of leaves at 6 – 8 WAP (4,55 strands). There is an interaction on treatment IBA 500 ppm; NAA 450 ppm on average number of roots (5,21 strands), and interaction on the treatment combination IBA 500 ppm; NAA 150 ppm on the average increase in number of leaves at 4 WAP (4,44 strands) and the average root length (135,33 mm).

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai konsentrasi auksin IBA dan NAA terhadap induksi akar stek pucuk tanaman jati (Tectona grandis Linn f.) var. solomon sebagai salah satu alternatif perbanyakan bibit karena sulitnya perbanyakan jati secara generatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus hingga September 2023 di Mekar Hurip Nursery, Bogor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF). Faktor pertama adalah berbagai taraf konsentrasi auksin IBA, yaitu P0 (0 ppm), P1 (250 ppm), P2 (500 ppm), dan P3 (750 ppm). Faktor kedua adalah berbagai taraf konsentrasi auksin NAA, yaitu B0 (0 ppm), B1 (150 ppm), B2 (300 ppm), dan B3 (450 ppm). Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase stek hidup, persentase stek berakar, waktu muncul daun, pertambahan tinggi tanaman, panjang daun, lebar daun, pertambahan jumlah daun, jumlah akar, dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa taraf konsentrasi auksin IBA 500 ppm (P2) cenderung memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap rerata lebar daun pada 4 MST (28,84 mm), pertambahan jumlah daun pada 4 MST (3,71 helai), jumlah akar (4,46 helai), dan panjang akar (115,41 mm). Tingkat konsentrasi auksin NAA 300 ppm (P2) cenderung memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap rerata panjang daun pada 5 - 8 MST (60,33 mm), jumlah akar (4,38 helai) dan panjang akar (115,25 mm). Tingkat konsentrasi auksin NAA 450 ppm (P3) meningkatkan jumlah daun pada 6 - 8 MST (4,55 helai). Terdapat interaksi pada perlakuan IBA 500 ppm; NAA 450 ppm terhadap rerata jumlah akar (5,21 helai), dan interaksi pada kombinasi perlakuan IBA 500 ppm; NAA 150 ppm terhadap rerata pertambahan jumlah daun umur 4 MST (4,44 helai) dan rerata panjang akar (135,33 mm).
