Abstract

The objectives of this research were to design a model of speaking material of English for tourism subject and to find out the feasibility of the designed material. The method of this research was research and development using Borg and Gall (1983) development model with some limitations. The subject of the data and field testing of this research was the students who enrolled English for Tourism at English Department of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The instructional material was designed based on the result of needs analysis of target students. The instructional material was validated by expert and the questionnaire was given to the target students to see their responses toward the instructional media. The result of the expert validation was 86.76% which showed that the instructional material was feasible to apply in English for Tourism class. Meanwhile, the result of students‘ response has an average 78.9% which meant good. It could be concluded that the designed model of material was appropriate to apply in the classroom according to expert validation result, and the target students had good responses toward the design of model of material.
