Abstract

The rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae L.) is the main pest of rice. The impact of rice weevil infestation includes a decrease in the quality and overall value of rice. The use of natural pesticides like pandan leaf flour (Pandanus amaryllifolius) mixed with pandan leaf extract is considered due to its high content of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and terpenoids which can inhibit the growth of pests. This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of the pandan leaf flour natural pesticide that provides the best effect on rice weevil mortality. The research was carried out in Laboratory Basic Science and Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, and Grand Sutra Kragilan Block two No. 8, Village of Kendayakan, District of Kragilan, Regency of Serang, Banten. The research was carried out from January to March 2023. This research method used one-factor Completely Randomized Design consisting of six treatments and four replications. The results of the study conducted over seven days after application indicate that the use of pandan leaf flour pesticide waseffective in controlling rice weevil infestation. The dosage of pandan leaf flour that provided the best effect was 12 g/100 g of rice. The observed resultinclude an initial mortality of 11 hours, a Lethal Time of 50% of 1.3 days, a total mortality of 98%, and a mortality rate of 1.14 weevils per day.

Additional Information: kutu beras (Sitophilus oryzae L.) merupakan hama utama padi. ​​Dampak dari serangan kutu berasantara lain penurunan mutu dan nilai jual beras secara keseluruhan. Penggunaan pestisida alami berupa tepung daun pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius) yang dicampur dengan ekstrak daun pandan dinilai memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, tanin, dan terpenoid yang tinggi sehingga dapat menghambat pertumbuhan hama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis optimal pestisida alami tepung daun pandan yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap mortalitas kutu beras. ​​Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ilmu Dasar dan Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, dan Grand Sutra Kragilan Blok Dua No. 8, Desa Kendayakan, Kecamatan Kragilan, Kabupaten Serang, Banten. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan Maret 2023. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap satu faktor yang terdiri dari enam perlakuan dan empat kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan selama tujuh hari setelah aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pestisida tepung daun pandan efektif dalam mengendalikan serangan hama kutu beras. ​​Dosis tepung daun pandan yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik adalah 12 g/100 g beras. Hasil pengamatan meliputi mortalitas awal 11 jam, Lethal Time 50% selama 1,3 hari, mortalitas total 98%, dan tingkat mortalitas 1,14 ekor bonggol padi per hari.
