Abstract
Advances in information and communication technology are accompanied by increasing human needs that are increasingly complex so that various types of new media, such as social media, the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (@bptjkemenhub) is one of the government agencies that carrying out public communication on social media. This study aims to explain in depth and thoroughly how social media management as a public communication medium, what obstacles are faced in the management of public communication, as well as an internal evaluation of the success of BPTJ Public Relations on its social media management in carrying out public communication regarding the integration of Jabodetabek transportation services. This study uses qualitative research methods and presented the results of research that had been carried out through interview and observation methods. The results of this study show that: 1) The management of @bptjkemenhub accounts makes this account transform from social media in general, to a public communication media that provides publicity related to transportation services, social campaigns, to information about the integration of Jabodetabek transportation services; 2) The limitation of human resources affects the quality of information produced and has an impact on the increase and decrease of social media interactions and algorithms; 3) The results of a well-implemented evaluation create an improvement in the quality of information until audience participation increases gradually.

Additional Information: | Kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi diiringi dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan manusia yang semakin kompleks sehingga memunculkan berbagai jenis media baru, seperti media sosial, Badan Pengelola Transportasi Jabodetabek (@bptjkemenhub) menjadi salah satu instansi pemerintah yang menjalankan komunikasi publik di media sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan secara mendalam dan menyeluruh bagaimana pengelolaan media sosial sebagai media komunikasi publik, hambatan apa saja yang dihadapi dalam pengelolaan komunikasi publik, serta evaluasi internal keberhasilan Humas BPTJ terhadap pengelolaan media sosialnya dalam menjalankan komunikasi publik mengenai integrasi layanan transportasi Jabodetabek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan menyajikan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan melalui metode wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Pengelolaan pada akun @bptjkemenhub membuat akun ini bertransformasi dari media sosial pada umumnya, menjadi media komunikasi publik yang memberikan publisitas terkait layanan transportasi, kampanye sosial, hingga informasi mengenai integrasi layanan transportasi Jabodetabek; 2) Keterbatasan SDM mempengaruhi kualitas informasi yang diproduksi dan berdampak pada kenaikan dan penurunan interaksi dan algoritma media sosial; 3) Hasil evaluasi yang diimplementasikan dengan baik menciptakan peningkatan kualitas informasi hingga partisipasi audiens yang naik secara bertahap. | |||||||||
