Abstract

The development of social media platforms in the fashion industry has unwittingly affected people's confidence level in social life. Most people today tend to experience excessive worry when the clothes they wear do not match the current trends. To minimize the negative impact caused by this phenomenon, an android-based fashion selection recommendation system was created in this research. The effort made to support the functionality of the application in this study is to use the App Engine service on the cloud provider Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Through a series of testing processes that have been carried out, information is obtained that the autoscaling feature on the App Engine service can help the server to produce optimal performance. This is evidenced by the highest throughput value in the API for recommendation services of 50.72 transactions/second. In addition, it was found that server specifications on the App Engine service can also affect the level of server resilience in handling any spikes in requests in the application.
