Abstract

This research was motivated by students' problems in learning activities and understanding of creative dance element material in class IX of SMP Negeri 3 Cinangka. The aim of this research is to determine the learning process using the Problem Based Learning model and its influence on understanding the elements of creative dance among students in class IX of SMP Negeri 3 Cinangka. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The research results showed that the average value in the experimental class was 28.13 and the average value in the control class was 27.25. Then, to determine the effect of using the Problem Based Learning model, hypothesis testing was carried out using a two-sample t test. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model has an influence on understanding the elements of creative dance.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran serta pemahaman mengenai materi unsur tari kreasi di kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Cinangka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dan pengaruhnya terhadap pemahaman unsur tari kreasi pada siswa di kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Cinangka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian didapati nilai rata-rata pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 28,13 dan nilai rata-rata pada kelas kontrol sebesar 27,25. Kemudian untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan model Problem Based Learning dilakukan pengujian hipotesis degan menggunakan uji t dua sampel. Dengan demikian, maka disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman unsur tari kreasi.
