Abstract
This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of papaya leaf extract as a vegetable insecticide against the mortality of armyworm pests (Spodoptera frugiperda). This study used a Non-factorial Complete Random Design (CRD). The treatment was a type of extract with 6 levels of treatment, namely P0: Control, P1: Emamectin benzoate 1 ml/l, P2: 50% extract, P3: 60% extract, P4: 70% extract, and P5: 80% extract. In this study, there were 6 levels of treatment with each treatment repeated 4 times so that there were 24 experimental units. Each experimental unit used 4 S. frugiperda larvae, so that the S. frugiperda larvae used in the experimental unit were 96 larvae. All papaya leaf extract treatments provided effective results on the mortality of armyworm larvae (Spodoptera frugiperda) with a mortality percentage of 90%−100%, when compared to the control treatment. Mortality percentage, larval weight and LT50 showed differences due to different concentrations. The higher the concentration used, the higher the effectiveness value. The best treatment is in the P5 treatment (80%) with a mortality of 100%, an increased larval weight of 0.028 g, and an LT50 value of 18.16 hours.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak daun pepaya sebagai insektisida nabati terhadap mortalitas hama ulat grayak (Spodoptera frugiperda). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Non Faktorial. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah jenis ekstrak dengan 6 taraf perlakuan yaitu P0: Kontrol, P1: Emamektin benzoat 1 ml/l, P2: ekstrak 50%, P3: ekstrak 60%, P4: ekstrak 70%, dan P5: 80% ekstrak. Pada penelitian ini terdapat 6 taraf perlakuan yang masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali sehingga terdapat 24 satuan percobaan. Setiap unit percobaan menggunakan 4 ekor larva S. frugiperda, sehingga larva S. frugiperda yang digunakan pada unit percobaan berjumlah 96 larva. Seluruh perlakuan ekstrak daun pepaya memberikan hasil yang efektif terhadap kematian larva ulat grayak (Spodoptera frugiperda) dengan persentase kematian 90%−100% jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. Persentase kematian, berat larva dan LT50 menunjukkan perbedaan karena perbedaan konsentrasi. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi yang digunakan maka semakin tinggi pula nilai efektivitasnya. Perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P5 (80%) dengan mortalitas 100%, peningkatan bobot larva 0,028 g, dan nilai LT50 18,16 jam. | |||||||||
