Abstract
ABSTRACT SITI HAMISAH MAHARANI. 2024. Addition of Chlorella vulgaris Meal to Feed to Reproductive Performance of Oryzias woworae Fish. Supervised by Muh. Herjayanto and Dodi Hermawan Oryzias woworae is a potential ornamental fish commodity, but only a few in mass production quantities. Increasing mass production can be done by feeding to enhance reproduction. Adding Chlorella vulgaris powder could improve the reproduction of O. woworae. C. vulgaris is a unicellular algae widely used as a natural feed. C. vulgaris contains carotenoids and vitamin E, a natural antioxidant that suppresses oxidative stress. This study aimed to evaluate the addition of C. vulgaris flour in feed for the reproductive performance of O. woworae. This study was conducted from August to September 2022. Supplementation dose of C. vulgaris flour was 0%, 5%, 10% and 20%. After the container was prepared and the feed was made, broodstock was reared in a spawning container, with one male: 1 female ratio. The spawning process takes ten days. Research results show that adding C. vulgaris flour did not significantly impact the reproductive performance parameters of O. woworae. However, treatment C (10% of C. vulgaris) produced more eggs (203 eggs) with a lower additional cost (Rp10,000) compared to treatment D (20% of C. vulgaris). While treatment D did result in a slightly higher number of larvae (54 larvae), the cost was higher (Rp20,000) due to the increased requirement for C. vulgaris. Therefore, treatment C, with higher egg production and lower costs, is more economically advantageous. Keywords: Chlorella, feed supplementation, ornamental fish, ricefish
