Abstract
This research aims to analyze the representation of women and the underlying elements within it. The self-image of women is divided into two categories: the representation of women in physical and psychological aspects, and the social representation of women within the family and society. The methodology employed in this study utilizes a feminist literary criticism approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques involve literature review and note-taking. The findings presented in this research indicate that: (1) there are foundational elements in the novel Nyutrayu by Joko Gesang Santoso, comprising 1 theme, 1 progressive plot, 6 characters along with their characterizations, and 3 settings; (2) a total of 37 data points related to the representation of women were identified in the novel Nyutrayu, with the societal representation of women being the most dominant, while the representation of women in physical aspects is the least prevalent.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian yang telah dilakukan mempunyai sasaran untuk memaparkan citra perempuan dan unsur pembangun di dalamnya. Citra diri perempuan sendiri terbagi menjadi citra perempuan dalam aspek fisis dan psikis, serta citra sosial perempuan terbagi menjadi citra perempuan dalam keluarga dan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kritik sastra feminisme dengan menggumakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan berupa studi pustaka serta teknik simak-catat. Hasil yang dipaparkan dalam penelitian ini berupa: (1) Terdapat unsur-unsur pembangun dalam novel Nyutrayu karangan Joko Gesang Santoso yang terdiri dari 1 tema, 1 plot progresif, 6 tokoh beserta penokohannya, dan 3 latar; (2) Citra perempuan dalam novel Nyutrayu yang ditemukan berjumlah 37 data. Citra perempuan dalam masyarakat sebagai citra yang paling mendominasi dan citra yang paling sedikit adalah citra perempuan dalam aspek fisis. | |||||||||
