Abstract
This research aims to know the understanding of student concepts using Circuit Learning model (CL) to student using direct learning model. The type of research used is quasi experiments in the form of nonequivalent control group design. Sampling is done by using purposive sampling technique. The selected sample is the VB class as the experimental class using the learning circuit learning (CL) and class VA model as the control class. Based on pretest data processing obtained the average value of the experiment class student by 53,68 while the control class of 52,04. From the result of the experiment average value of paraf grade significant = 0,05 obtained tcount= 0,579 and ttable =1,667. It can be conculted that the ability to understand the concept of learners on IPS subjects before being given treatment is no difference. After learning both classes are given posttest. Based on postets data processing obtained the average result of the concept of understanding of students in subjects IPS experimental class of 74,8 whilw thw control class of 60,92. From result of difference test of average of significant paraf value = 0,05 obtained tcount= 4,34 and ttable =1,667. Based on the result of the study can be conculedthat the ability to understand students concept the subject of IPS student using the model Circuit Learning (CL) there is a significant difference and better than the student who use direct learning model.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Circuit Learning (CL) terhadap siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen yang berbentuk nonequivalent control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel yang terpilih adalah kelas VB sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Circuit Learning (CL) dan kelas VA sebagai kelas kontrol yang mendapat perlakuan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Berdasarkan pengolahan data pretest diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 53,68 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 52,04. Dari hasil uji beda rata-rata nilai kelas paraf signifikan = 0,05 diperoleh thitung = 0,579 dan ttabel = 1,667. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS sebelum diberikan perlakuan adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan. Setelah pembelajaran, kedua kelas diberikan postest. Berdasarkan pengolahan data postest diperoleh rata-rata hasil pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas eksperimen sebesar 74,8 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 60,92. Dari hasil uji beda rata-rata nilai kelas paraf signifikan = 0,05 diperoleh thitung = 4,34 dan ttabel = 1,667. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Circuit Learning (CL) terdapat perbedaan signifikan dan lebih baik dari pada siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. | |||||||||
