Abstract

An essential element of teaching and learning process that impact the quality of instruction is classroom management. This research was to enhance how the classroom management strategies in TEYL by novice teachers and what the challenges that faced by them. The participant of this research was applied by two English novice teachers in SD Fadilah Kota Tangerang Selatan. The data obtained from the classroom observations and interview. The research results were divided into three categories, namely physical environment class, psychological setting class, and management of the teaching process. The seating arrangement of this classroom was in orderly rows pattern. The psychological setting in the class was found that uncomfortable enough as it should be. Lastly, the management of the teaching and learning process plays a significant role in creating an effective classroom environment. Many challenges that faced by the two-novice teacher in the class; such as noisy students, crying students, critical students, and low motivation students. In conclusion, the two-novice teacher have a good management classroom and they could solve that challenges as well. It can be assumed that the two-novice teacher could create an effective classroom environment, it is essential to pay attention to physical classroom arrangements, foster a positive psychological setting, and have a well-structured management of the teaching and learning process. In other side, they are insufficient knowledge of handling current English young learners. They must be improve their confident and the way they provide feedback to establish students more enthusiastic and motivated to learn.
