Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa. L) is one of the most popular horticultural crops in Indonesia. One of the efforts to increase pakcoy production is hydroponic planting. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of axis and type of planting media on the growth and yield of pakcoy (Brassica rapa subsp. L) Masbro variety in hydroponic Wick system. This research began in the month of February to April 2024. This study used a Randomized Group Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the type of wick (M) which consists of 4 levels, namely M1 (flannel wick), M2 (stove wick), M3 (cotton cloth wick), M4 (wool cloth wick). The second factor is the type of planting media (N) which consists of 4 levels, namely N1 (rockwool), N2 (husk charcoal), N3 (Cocopeat), N4 (Compost). Each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that the type of axis and planting media can increase the growth and yield of pakcoy plants. The type of flannel wick (N1) gives the best results in the parameters of the number of leaves, leaf width, wet weight, and dry weight. Wick type treatment of wool cloth (M4) and rockwool planting media are more efficient for pakcoy growth. The treatment of planting media showed the best results on the parameters of the number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, and plant height. There is an interaction between the type of wick and planting media on the amount of chlorophyll, while in other parameters there is no interaction between the type of wick and planting media on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants.

Additional Information: Tanaman pakcoy (Brassica rapa. L) merupakan salah satu tanaman hortikultura yang sangat digemari di Indonesia. Salah satu upaya peningkatan produksi pakcoy adalah penanaman secara hidroponik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui jenis sumbu dan jenis media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy (Brassica rapa subsp. L) varietas Masbro secara hidroponik sistem Wick. Penelitian ini dimulai pada bulan Februari sampai dengan April 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah jenis sumbu (M) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu M1 (sumbu flannel), M2 (sumbu kompor), M3 (sumbu kain katun), M4 (sumbu kain wol). Faktor kedua adalah macam media tanam (N) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu N1 (rockwool), N2 (Arang sekam), N3 (Cocopeat), N4 (Kompos). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis sumbu dan media tanam dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Jenis sumbu kain flannel (N1) memberikan hasil terbaik pada parameter jumlah daun, lebar daun, bobot basah, dan bobot kering. Perlakuan jenis sumbu kain wol (M4) dan media tanam rockwool lebih efisien digunakan untuk pertumbuhan pakcoy. Perlakuan media tanam menunjukkan hasil terbaik terhadap parameter jumlah daun, panjang daun, lebar daun, dan tinggi tanaman. Terdapat interaksi antara jenis sumbu dan media tanam terhadap jumlah klorofil, sedangkan pada parameter lainnya tidak terdapat interaksi antara jenis sumbu dan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy.
