Abstract
This research aims to identify and analyze the symbolic metaphors of sexual violence found in the film using Roland Barthes semiotic theory. The analysis covers the concepts of denotation, connotation, and myth, and connects these symbols to cultural and narrative elements, such as the mythological tale of Medusa, the 3M slogan of "erase, cover, bury", betta fish, and the photocopying machine. The research results show that the film "Penyalin Cahaya" effectively utilizes these symbols to depict sexual violence and its aftermath. The Medusa symbol is used to reflect the victim's power and trauma, while the 3M slogan is interpreted as the cleansing of traces of sexual violence crimes. The betta fish symbolizes the objectification of the victim, while the photocopying machine serves as a metaphor for the duplication and dissemination of trauma and the revelation of truth. Overall, the combination of visual and narrative elements in the film forms a complex and profound meaning, inviting viewers to understand the issue of sexual violence from a more critical perspective. This research contributes to the social and cultural discussion of sexual violence and highlights the important role of film in shaping public perception and awareness of sexual violence issues.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis simbol-simbol metafora kekerasan seksual yang terdapat dalam film menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Analisis ini mencakup konsep denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos, serta menghubungkan simbol-simbol tersebut dengan elemen budaya dan naratif, seperti kisah mitologi Medusa, slogan 3M "menguras, menutup, mengubur," ikan cupang, dan mesin fotokopi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film "Penyalin Cahaya" secara efektif memanfaatkan simbol-simbol ini untuk menggambarkan kekerasan seksual dan dampaknya. Simbol Medusa digunakan untuk merefleksikan kekuatan dan trauma korban, sementara slogan 3M diinterpretasikan sebagai pembersihan jejak kejahatan kekerasan seksual. Ikan cupang melambangkan objektifikasi korban, sedangkan mesin fotokopi berfungsi sebagai metafora penggandaan dan penyebaran trauma serta pengungkapan kebenaran. Secara keseluruhan, kombinasi elemen-elemen visual dan naratif dalam film membentuk makna yang kompleks dan mendalam, mengajak penonton untuk memahami isu kekerasan seksual dari perspektif yang lebih kritis. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap diskusi sosial dan kultural mengenai kekerasan seksual, serta menyoroti peran penting film dalam membentuk persepsi dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap masalah kekerasan seksual. | |||||||||
