Abstract
This study aims to determine the application of organic mulch types and watering intensity that provide the best effect on the growth and yield of mung bean plants (Vigna radiata L.). This research is an experimental research conducted from March to May 2024 in Cilayang Maja Village, Cilayang Guha Village, Cikeusal District, Serang Regency, Banten Province, and in the Soil and Agroclimate Laboratory of the Agroecotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The design used in this study was a Randomized Group Design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the type of organic mulch consisting of 3 experimental levels of sawdust organic mulch (M1), reed organic mulch (M2) and rice straw organic mulch (M3). The second factor is watering intensity which consists of 3 levels, namely watering every day (P1), watering every 3 days (P2), and watering every 5 days (P3). The results showed that the M2 treatment gave an influence on the parameters of plant height 5 weeks after planting (63.11 cm), 9 weeks after planting (68.56 cm), the number of leaves 6 weeks after planting (65.67 strands), 9 weeks after planting (68.56 strands) and plant dry weight 9 weeks after planting (4.67 g). The treatment of daily watering intensity P1 gave the best effect on the number of pods per plant 8 weeks after planting (12.04 pieces), 9 weeks after planting (14.07 pieces), plant wet weight (7.49 g), plant dry weight (5.04 g), plant wet seed weight (4.28 g) and plant dry seed weight (4.01 g). There was no interaction between the treatment of organic mulch types and watering intensity on the growth and yield of mung bean plants (Vigna radiata L.).

Additional Information: | Kacang hijau (Vigna radiata L.) merupakan tanaman polong-polongan tropis yang kaya akan karbohidrat dan protein. Meskipun potensinya tinggi, budidaya kacang hijau kurang diminati petani karena terbatasnya informasi, faktor ekonomi, dan persaingan pasar. Penerapan teknik budidaya yang baik, seperti penggunaan mulsa organik dan penyiraman yang tepat, dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan, produksi, dan kualitas tanaman kacang hijau serta memperbaiki kondisi lingkungan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan Mei 2024 di Kampung Cilayang Maja, Desa Cilayang Guha, Kecamatan Cikeusal, Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah jenis mulsa organik yang terdiri dari 3 taraf percobaan yaitu mulsa organik serbuk gergaji (M1), mulsa organik alang-alang (M2) dan mulsa organik jerami padi (M3). Faktor kedua adalah intensitas penyiraman yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu penyiraman setiap hari (P1), penyiraman 3 hari sekali (P2), dan penyiraman 5 hari sekali (P3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan M2 memberikan pengaruh terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman 5 MST (63,11 cm), 9 MST (68,56 cm), jumlah daun 6 MST (65,67 helai), 9 MST (68,56 helai), dan berat kering tanaman 9 MST (4,67 g). Perlakuan intensitas penyiraman harian P1 memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap jumlah polong per tanaman umur 8 MST (12,04 buah), 9 MST (14,07 buah), berat basah tanaman (7,49 g), berat kering tanaman (5,04 g), berat biji basah tanaman (4,28 g) dan berat biji kering tanaman (4,01 g). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan jenis mulsa organik dan intensitas penyiraman terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang hijau (Vigna radiata L.). | |||||||||
