Abstract

This research raises the issue of the low interest in becoming a teacher among young people, including students. The aim is to analyse the factors that influence their interest in becoming teachers in the Sociology Education Study Program at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The population of this study were 218 respondents with a sample of 142 respondents. While the sampling technique uses a proportionate stratified random sampling approach. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the interest in becoming a teacher in students of the Sociology Education Study Programme, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University was in the interested category with a percentage in the 2020 batch of students, namely 62%, in the 2021 batch of students, namely 72%, and in the 2022 batch of students, namely 52%. The highest indicator in the class of 2020 is the affective aspect indicator 67%, the class of 2021 the cognitive aspect indicator 62%, and the class of 2022 the social environment indicator 58%. The results showed that the factors that influence the interest in becoming a teacher for students of the Sociology Education Study Program at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University are in the indicators of cognitive aspects, conation aspects and the social environment with the implementation of Theory of Planned Behaviour.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini mengangkat permasalahan tentang rendahnya minat menjadi guru dikalangan anak muda termasuk pada mahasiswa. Tujuannya untuk menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mereka menjadi guru di Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Adapun populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 218 responden dengan sampel sebanyak 142 responden. Sedangkan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan pendekatan proportionate stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa minat menjadi guru pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan di Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa berada pada kategori berminat dengan persentase pada mahasiswa angkatan 2020 yaitu 62%, pada mahasiswa angkatan 2021 yaitu 72%, dan pada mahasiswa angkatan 2022 yaitu 52%. Indikator paling tinggi pada angkatan 2020 adalah indikator aspek afektif 67%, angkatan 2021 indikator aspek kognitif 62%, dan angkatan 2022 indikator lingkungan sosial 58%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan faktor yang mempengaruhi minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program studi Pendidikan Sosiologi Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa terdapat pada indikator aspek kognitif, aspek konasi dan lingkungan sosial dengan implementasi Theory of Planned Behaviour.
