Abstract

Hemodialysis patients really need health communication because those who were initially healthy become sick due to chronic kidney failure, and have to undergo hemodialysis so patients really need support from either family or nurses. This research was conducted to determine the importance of health communication for patients and the role of families and nurses in interpersonal communication and motivation for chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. The focus of this research is on health communication for chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis as well as the motivation given by families and nurses to chronic kidney failure patients. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results were obtained from interviews and direct observation at RSUD Dr. Drajat Prawiranegara with 20 respondents consisting of patients, families and nurses. The results of this research are that health communication is needed by chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis, apart from that motivation from family and nurses is very necessary for the survival of patients undergoing hemodialysis for life.

Additional Information: Pasien hemodialisa sangat membutuhkan komunikasi kesehatan karena yang awalnya sehat menjadi sakit dikarenakan gagal ginjal kronik, dan harus menjalani hemodialisa sehingga pasien sangat membutuhkan dukungan baik dari keluarga atau perawat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pentingnya komunikasi kesehatan bagi pasien dan peran keluarga dan perawat dalam komunikasi interpersonal dan motivasi bagi pasien gagal ginjal kronik yang menjalani hemodialisa. Fokus penelitian ini pada komunikasi kesehatan pasien gagal ginjal kronik yang menjalani hemodialisa serta motivasi yang diberikan keluarga dan perawat pada pasien gagal ginjal kronik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil di dapatkan dari wawancara dan observasi langsung di RSUD Dr. Drajat Prawiranegara dengan 20 responden yang terdiri dari pasien, keluarga dan perawat. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah komunikasi kesehatan diperlukan oleh pasien gagal ginjal kronik dalam menjalani hemodialisa, selain itu motivasi dari keluarga dan perawat sangat diperlukan untuk keberlangsungan hidup pasien yang menjalani hemodialisa seumur hidup.
