Abstract

Self love involves self - acceptance, emotional control, and the formation of healthy relationships with others. Movies have become a mass communication medium that has become an integral part of a vast and diverse human experience. Imperfect Film: Career, Love & Scales raise themes such as beauty standards in society, selfacceptance and one's struggle in the face of social pressure. This study wants to see how signs and objects about self-love representations and interpret the symbols used. The method is used qualitatively with Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotics analysis that shows how signs, objects, and interpretants generate meaning in terms of self-love representation in female victims of body shaming. The result is 1. Grateful body with grace. 2. Loving someone without looking at physical 3. Maintain body health and fitness 4. Emphasizing beauty isn't just about body 5. Pursuing dreams and passion regardless of other people's words and the three components of self-love that are self-acceptance, self-cherishing, self persistence. Self love behavior is represented by reflecting signs, smiling broadly, laughing, taking care of yourself, and developing potential.

Self love melibatkan penerimaan diri, pengendalian emosi, dan pembentukan hubungan yang sehat kepada orang lain. Film menjadi media komunikasi massa yang telah menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari pengalaman manusia yang luas dan beragam. Film Imperfect: Karier, Cinta & Timbangan mengangkat tentang tema-tema seperti standar kecantikan di masyarakat, penerimaan diri dan perjuangan seseorang dalam menghadapi tekanan social. Penelitian ini ingin melihat bagaimana tanda dan objek mengenai representasi self love serta memaknai simbol-simbol yang digunakan. Metode yang digunakan kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Pierce yang memperlihatkan bagaimana tanda, objek, dan interpretant menghasilkan makna mengenai representasi self love pada perempuan korban body shaming. Hasil yang didapat ialah 1. Mensyukuri tubuh dengan anugerah 2. Mencintai seseorang tanpa memandang fisik 3. Menjaga kesehatan dan kebugaran tubuh 4. Menekankan kecantikan bukan sekedar masalah tubuh 5. Mengejar mimpi dan passion tanpa peduli omongan orang lain serta 2 komponen self love yang didapat yaitu penerimaan diri (self-acceptance), menghargai diri (self-cherishing), kegigihan diri (self persistence). Perilaku self love direpresentasikan melalui tanda bercermin, tersenyum lebar, tertawa, merawat diri, dan mengembangkan potensi.
