Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out if the Discrete Trial Training (DTT) method, which is a part of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach, helps autistic children improve their eye contact abilities. This study used a Single Subject Research (SSR) methodology for its experimental analysis. This study used the A- B-A design for its investigation. We used descriptive statistics to examine the data, and then we plotted it all out in line graphs. An autistic first-grader from SDLB going by the initials "F" was the center of attention in this research. Research conducted at SKh Elok Asri on autistic students in first grade has shown that Discrete Trial Training (DTT) techniques, which are a component of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), may help these students develop better eye contact skills. The study's findings confirm that Discrete Trial Training (DTT), an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodology, may help autistic students in the first grade at SKh Elok Asri develop better eye contact. The average or mean value derived from the data on target behavior clearly demonstrates this. Baseline 1 (A1) data shows that the first time the participants tried to establish eye contact, they were only successful for 14.35 seconds. The average time to acquire data increased after the intervention from 17.55 seconds in Baseline 2 to 21.88 seconds after the intervention. Results from baseline 2 showed an increase from baseline 1, even though there was a reduction from intervention to baseline 2. Class I autistic students at SKh Elok Asri may benefit from the Discrete Trial Training (DTT) methodology, which is a component of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method.
