Abstract
This research is motivated by the unique and sacred nature of the Karinding Kukus group. The purpose of this research is to understand the form of music and its function within the community. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the Karinding Kukus group, focusing on the song "Hariring Alam Katukang," while the object is the form of music and its function in the community. Data collection techniques include literature study, controlled observation, structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Validity tests included extending observations, increasing persistence, and triangulation. The results of the research show that the song "Hariring Alam Katukang" highlights the theme of natural beauty, and the functions of music as a means of entertainment, communication, and cultural balance.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keunikan grup Karinding Kukus yang sakral. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bentuk musik dan fungsi musik di masyarakat tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Grup Karinding Kukus, pada lagu "Hariring Alam Katukang", sedangkan objeknya adalah bentuk musik dan fungsi musik dimasyarakat. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup studi kepustakaan, observasi terkendali, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Uji keabsahan meliputi perpanjangan pengamatan, peningkatan ketekunan, dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lagu "Hriring Alam Katukang" mengangkat tema tentang keindahan alam, dan fungsi musik sebagai sarana hiburan, funhgsi musik sebagai komunikasi, dan fungsi musik sebagai keseimbangan budaya. | |||||||||
