Abstract

This research is aimed to find out any significant effect of Reflective Journal on Student Writing Skills in Senior High School. This research is a quantitative research method by implementing a quasi-experimental design. This study involved 70 students as the sample, consisting of 35 students in the experimental class and 35 students in the control class. The pre-test was given to both classes at the first meeting and the post-test at the last meeting. To find the effect, the post-test was provided to both classes. The hypothesis testing was computed using the independent sample t-test through SPSS 25.00. The result demonstrated the positive effect of Reflective Journal on Student Writing Skills in Senior High School. The result of Sig. (2-tailed) of Independent T-test at 0.001, which was lower than 0.05 (0.001<0.05). Therefore, this demonstrated that the alternative hypothesis is accepted, and the null hypothesis is rejected. It means using Reflective Journal increases Student Writing Skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is significant effect of using Reflective Journal on Student Writing Skill in Senior High School.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang signifikan dari Jurnal Reflektif terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Siswa di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design). Penelitian ini melibatkan 70 siswa sebagai sampel, yang terdiri dari 35 siswa di kelas eksperimen dan 35 siswa di kelas kontrol. Pre-test diberikan kepada kedua kelas pada pertemuan pertama dan post-test pada pertemuan terakhir. Untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya, post-test diberikan kepada kedua kelas. Pengujian hipotesis dihitung dengan menggunakan independent sample t-test melalui SPSS 25.00. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dari Jurnal Reflektif terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Hasil Sig. (2-tailed) dari Independent T-test sebesar 0,001, yang lebih rendah dari 0,05 (0,001 < 0,05). Oleh karena itu, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif diterima dan hipotesis nol ditolak. Artinya, penggunaan Jurnal Reflektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan Jurnal Reflektif terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Siswa di Sekolah Menengah Atas.
