Abstract
Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is a type of seasonal fruit that many people like because of its sweet taste, crunchy flesh texture, different flesh colors and unique aroma. National melon crop production has decreased in the last two years, one of which is due to a lack of nutrients so that growth and yield are not optimal. Fertilizer is intended to provide the nutritional needs of plants which are given intensively, with the right dose and type, which will have a big impact on increasing agricultural production. Chitasil liquid organic fertilizer with both ingredients, namely silica and chitosan, can be used as an option to overcome melon productivity problems. This research aims to determine the effect of Chitasil liquid organic fertilizer and the best concentration on growth and yield of Minion melon varieties. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of PT Fitotech Agri Lestari Dramaga Bogor, from December 2023 to February 2024. The research method used a nonfactorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 6 treatment levels, namely P0 (Control), P1 (20 ppm), P2 (40 ppm), P3 (60 ppm), P4 (80 ppm), P5 (100 ppm). Each treatment was repeated 4 times to obtain 24 treatment combinations. Based on the research results, it shows that Chitasil liquid organic fertilizer has a real influence on the number of male flowers 4 and 6 weeks after planting (WAP) and has a very real influence on the parameters of the number of male flowers at 5 WAP, the number of female flowers, fruit weight, fruit flesh thickness, fruit length, fruit width, and sugar content. The best concentration is shown at the P3 treatment level with a concentration of 60 ppm.

Additional Information: | Melon (Cucumis melo L.) merupakan jenis buah musiman yang banyak digemari masyarakat karena rasanya yang manis, tekstur daging buah yang renyah, warna daging buah yang beragam serta aroma yang khas. Produksi tanaman melon nasional mengalami penurunan dalam dua tahun terakhir, salah satunya disebabkan oleh kurangnya unsur hara sehingga pertumbuhan dan hasil tidak optimal. Pemupukan ditujukan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan unsur hara tanaman yang diberikan secara intensif, dengan dosis dan jenis yang tepat, yang akan berdampak besar pada peningkatan produksi pertanian. Pupuk organik cair Chitasil dengan kedua bahan yaitu silika dan chitosan dapat dijadikan salah satu pilihan untuk mengatasi permasalahan produktivitas melon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik cair Chitasil dan konsentrasi terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil melon varietas Minion. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan PT Fitotech Agri Lestari Dramaga Bogor, mulai bulan Desember 2023 sampai dengan bulan Februari 2024. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) non faktorial yang terdiri dari 6 taraf perlakuan yaitu P0 (Kontrol), P1 (20 ppm), P2 (40 ppm), P3 (60 ppm), P4 (80 ppm), P5 (100 ppm). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali sehingga diperoleh 24 kombinasi perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pupuk organik cair Chitasil memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah bunga jantan umur 4 dan 6 minggu setelah tanam (MST) dan memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter jumlah bunga jantan umur 5 MST, jumlah bunga betina, bobot buah, tebal daging buah, panjang buah, lebar buah, dan kadar gula. Konsentrasi terbaik ditunjukkan pada taraf perlakuan P3 dengan konsentrasi 60 ppm. | ||||||||||||
