Abstract

BLDC motors have a fairly high performance when compared to brushed motors. One of the things that can affect the performance of a BLDC motor is the air gap between the rotor and stator. The purpose of this research is to analyze the radial flux type BLDC motor by testing several air gap variables on the performance of BLDC motor without load, half load and maximum load on electromagnetic brake. This research uses capacitors to increase the efficiency of BLDC motors. This research will compare air gap variables using experimental methods. The results obtained on the BLDC motor without load, the highest speed is obtained at an air gap of 1.7 mm which is 24213 RPM, the highest torque is obtained at an air gap of 1.3 mm by 0.00986 Nm, and the highest efficiency is obtained at an air gap of 1.3 mm by 90.21%. At half load BLDC motor, the highest speed, torque and efficiency are obtained at an air gap of 1.3 mm, namely speed of 12431 RPM, torque of 0.01146 Nm, and efficiency of 66.94%. At maximum load BLDC motor, the highest speed, torque and efficiency are obtained at an air gap of 1.3 mm, namely speed of 8124 RPM, torque of 0.01625 Nm, and efficiency of 44.49%. From the results obtained, the air gap width of 1.3 mm is the best for BLDC motors that have been made.

Additional Information: Motor BLDC memiliki performa yang cukup tinggi jika dibandingkan motor brushed. Salah satu yang dapat mempengaruhi performa motor BLDC adalah air gap antara rotor dan stator. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis motor BLDC jenis radial fluks dengan menguji beberapa variabel air gap terhadap performa motor BLDC tanpa beban, setengah beban dan beban maksimal pada electromagnetic brake. Penelitian ini menggunakan kapasitor untuk meningkatkan efisiensi motor BLDC. Penelitian ini akan membandingkan variabel air gap dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Hasil yang didapat pada motor BLDC tanpa beban, kecepatan tertinggi didapatkan pada air gap 1,7 mm yaitu sebesar 24213 RPM, torsi tertinggi didapatkan pada air gap 1,3 mm sebesar 0,00986 Nm, dan efisiensi tertinggi didapatkan pada air gap 1,3 mm sebesar 90,21 %. Pada motor BLDC setengah beban, kecepatan, torsi dan efisiensi tertinggi didapatkan pada air gap 1,3 mm yaitu kecepatan sebesar 12431 RPM, torsi sebesar 0,01146 Nm, dan efisiensi sebesar 66,94 %. Pada motor BLDC beban maksimal, kecepatan, torsi dan efisiensi tertinggi didapatkan pada air gap 1,3 mm yaitu kecepatan sebesar 8124 RPM, torsi sebesar 0,01625 Nm, dan efisiensi sebesar 44,49 %. Dari hasil yang didapatkan lebar air gap 1,3 mm adalah yang terbaik untuk motor BLDC yang telah dibuat.
